How to Use The Blog Scorecard as a Blog Improvement Tool

Step 1. For each section, calculate your average score: (TOTAL) / (# of questions).
For example, Section 4 has 6 questions. If your scores for each question were 3, 6, 8, 8, 6 and 5, the section average would be (3+6+8+8+6+5)/6 = 36/6 = an average score of 6.
Step 2. Make a list of the scorecard sections, starting with the one where you got the lowest average score. For example:
Lowest average: Value
2nd lowest: Content
3rd: Metrics
4th: Monetization
5th: Design
Step 3. List the 5 questions on which your blog scored the worst.
As a tiebreaker, assign a higher priority to the question pertaining to your weakest section (e.g. value, content). For example:
0, Value Question #2
0, Design Question #11
1, Monetization Question #4
3, Monetization Question #3
etc.
Step 4. Set goals to improve the 3 items that need the most urgent attention.
Step 5. Use the Blog Scorecard at least once a month to chart your blog’s progress.
